When A Cat Gets Older?
Posted on January 29th, 2010 4 commentsOK I have a cat that is getting to be in his senior years, And now he is starting to lose some of his teeth. None of them are his canines. But I was wondering if this is normal? If breed makes any difference, he is a Bengal.

Yes all pets start to have dental problems as they age and loose teeth is to be expected,my cat was half persian and she had some of her small ones from the front missing, but her canines stayed put as strong as ever,
and her back teeth started to wobble about, she had them cleaned and her gums were healthy but she still had loose teeth some fell out on their own some had to be helped out by the vet as they were hanging out,
and she was given antibiotics to prevent infection in the gum where her teeth fell out,so the first thing to do is take your cat for a check up to see what condition his gums are in, and the vet can say what action needs to be taken to try and save his remaining teeth. -

Yes, older cats often do start losing their teeth, but please take him to a vet for a dental cleaning and check-up if you haven’t already. He can get very sick from poor dental hygiene, severe gingivitis and tooth decay.

you need to switch his food. he needs more iron in his diet and watch his stool.
