    • I don’t know if you’ll be able to fix it, because I think he just digs it so much he can’t help but drool!

There is really nothing that you should be worried about. Dribbling or drolling is a direct respond to your petting. Cats react differently when stimulated. Some roll on the floor with pleasure, some stick their buttocks high up the hair, some will even vocalized in a sing song manner.
Although you may be tempted to correct of fix this behavior, unfortunately, stimulated drooling is involuntary. Your cat cannot control his response to your petting. The only thing that you can do is to have paper towels or cloth ready to clean up. :)

    • He might be doing it just because he is content, if so, there is nothing to worry about and nothing you can do to stop it. Sometimes cats do this while being patted and/or kneading because they were taken away from their mothers too early and because they see their owners as surrogate mothers, they will do this when you pat them because they never had the chance to grow out of that behavior naturally.
There is nothing you can do to stop them from dribbling unless there is a medical cause for it such as a toothache, which you should make sure he doesn’t have just to be safe.

    • My cat lady Drools to its gross though because if you scratch her ears then she shakes her head splattering everyone in the room
she is thin but well feed black and fluffy she is a(as far as we know) a four time mum and we own one of her kittens, misty the rest we gave away to loving caring people
      we have six cats… Stuff(the domanite), puff(the oldest), lady(the mum), Mr. bean(lazy bum), misty(fatty moo cow)… then my grandmum’s cat … Saco(sock-o) aka:phyco saco.

    • My Siamese cat drools whenever she is happy and is purring. I think if that is the only time it happens you should just take it as a sign of your cat’s enjoying itself and keep a paper towel handy to wipe it off your hand/furniture/clothes.
Now if it happens at other times…take your little buddy to the vet just to make sure everything is ok.

    • The outdoor cat does this as well, I’ll have a soggy lap after petting him. You can see the drops falling….
Some cats get so into being petted they salivate, which is a kitten thing from their childhood. You won’t be able to stop it, you can only lay down a towel and let that catch the drool. The cat can’t help it and they usually don’t outgrow it.

    • I am sitting on my sofa in London laughing like a moron, that is the sweetest funniest thing I’ve heard for a long time. Let the mog dribble, sounds like he adores you!

    • drip, drip, slobber, slobber!! fraid there’s nothing you can do!! the only think i can think of, is to make your cat really unhappy and never fuss him again!! JUST KIDDING!!

    • Cats often dribble when they are happy and purring, but other reasons for dribbling include a sore mouth or teeth, a bad taste in their mouth or nausea.

    • woah thats werid, maybe take it to a vet
