I like Birman, Russian blue and Ragdoll but do you know any others which are suitable for the indoor life?

    • ALL cats (purebred or mixed) are suitable for indoor homes. Its far safer to keep any cat inside. If you feel they need to go outside – do so only under supervision; harness/leash or cat enclosure rather then letting them out to roam unsupervised.

    • Any cat really – it depends on if it wants to stay in or will insist on going out, personality wise. I have a regular old ginger tabby and shes not even interested in looking out the window, never mind going out there. The neighbours have a ragdoll and they say they can barely get him to stay in long enough to eat his food and get combed out before hes away out exploring again.

    • ALL cat breeds are meant to live indoors and if you buy a cat from a breeder they’re going to make you sign a contract stating you’ll keep it indoors.
Are you aware that cats of specific breeds START at about $600? Why not just go to a shelter and adopt a cat or kitten – of any breed or of no particular breed?

    • I agree with everyone else. I have a Korat and a Ragdoll, they are both indoors and they are both fine. They’ve always been indoors (6yrs) and they are very happy, healthy little animals. Make sure he/she has a nice wide window to stretch out on and lots of play space, he/she will be fine.

    • all breads are great indoor pets. I like tabby cats myself, but Himalayans are great my grandma has had them and they are very calm.

    • All the breeds you mentioned as great indoor cats. Really any cat.

    • pretty much any breed would be fine. The one you choose will adjust to indoor living.

    • I love common housecats, mostly because they are the most playful. I’m getting one the next week!!!

    • Check out Napoleons: http://www.blueskycats.com

    • all breeds
