  • Help With Name For New Cat?

Posted on February 24th, 2010 admin 7 comments

I’m not very creative with names. I have 2 beardies and their names were Number 1 and Number 2 until a 7 yr old girl named them for me. I’ll be getting a boy cat in Feb. I have a Snow Spotted Bengal girl named Binnie. I’ll be getting a Brown Spotted Bengal boy that will have a golden background with black spots. He’ll be 9 mos old in Feb. (I’ll be done with breeders then.) I want him to have a funny name, not the typical boring name. Only one I came across is Meouch. I thought of Armani but that’s not funny, sounds more uppity and spoiled, but I’m considering it. Thanks in advance. And I always choose a best answer.

  • How Do I Get My Bengal Kitten To Stop Jumping At My Face, Biting And Scratching?

Posted on February 24th, 2010 admin 4 comments

I’ve had him for two months and he’s generally really sweet but sometimes he can be really naughty. If you say a stern no and put him on the floor he becomes vindictive and will jump at your face and bite you. I’ve never had a cat before so not sure if this is a Bengal thing or a kitten phase. Please help because I want him to grow up well behaved and nice. Quite often if I switch the light off at night before he’s ready to go to bed he’ll pounce on my face and bite me.

  • Cat Won’t Wear Collar?

Posted on February 24th, 2010 admin 11 comments

My cat hates wearing a collar. She is mostly an indoor cat, but she wants to go outside and I do not want her going out without any id. (she is not microchipped as I will be moving when college starts, and do not believe in putting computer parts into humans or animals) She has been fixed, so pregnancy is not a problem. She comes when called. I live on a lot of land, over 100 acres, where there are wild animals and high traffic and I am worried that she will be eaten by bigger animals or run over by a car.
This isn’t just a cat to me, she is my baby and she is irreplaceable. How do I get her to wear a collar/leash or where could I find a kitty harness, something that is comfortable for her that she will not try and bite off? Can she be trained to wear it? Cassidy is a 2 yr old Tabby/Bengal mix, if that helps.

  • Trying To Decide Between Two Cat Names?

Posted on February 24th, 2010 admin 20 comments

I have a new cat and have two names I’m thinking of naming him. Either Apollo or Strider.
I like them for different reasons.
Apollo: Greek God of the sun, fits with the cat’s appearance, as he is a spotted bengal and has a glittery coat. But I’m not sure about the name because it has three syllables and I’m not sure if it would be too hard to say repeatedly, as well as for the cat to respond to.
Strider: Has two syllables, so it’s easier to say. But I don’t know the cat’s personality yet, so I don’t know if it would fit this name. Although it is the name of a person (in Lord of the Rings), so maybe that wouldn’t matter too much.
Which one do you prefer? If you had a cat with a longer name (more than two syllables) do you shorten it or wish it was shorter?
