My dog is a three year old lab, the kitten is an eight week old tabby. I also have a six year old Bengal cat which can stand up for himself. I would be greatful for some useful advice as my children aswell as myself and partner have grown very attached to the little fella and we really don’t want to part company with him.

  • My New Male Cat Tries To Attack And Hold Down My Old Male Cat By Biting His Neck And Holding Him Down?

I have a 1.5 year old Bengal Male Cat. I just recently got a 2.5 yr old Egyptian Mau from a breeder who retired him. He was altered (neutered) the same day that I picked him up. I followed steps to introduce the cats, with limited contact, and placement of each others scents. When I was finally ready to let them touch one another. The Mau keeps insisting on taking the Bengals back and biting the back of his neck and holding him down. I have never let it get very far, but isn’t this how they mate?? These are both males, and I am not sure what is tempting the Mau?? Is he just use to doing this from his days in the cattery as a stud? Or is he trying to establish dominance? The cats don’t seem to mind being around one another, and when I seperate them they just go on opposite sides of the door and sniff each other, and talk back and forth. I am really hard pressed to fix this issue. I don’t want this to escalate into a war.
    Thank you!

  • Cat Attack???

A few hours ago I heard a massive meow and found my little Siamese female desexed cat sprinting away from a huge black cat. My other cat (a burmese) keeps on coming close to the siamese to see how she is but stops about 10cm away snifs her then walks away. And just before the burmese was in her basket and the siamese came to sleep with her and she (the burmese) let out a massive meow and scared the siamese off. The siamese also gets upset when we pick her up. All this behaviour is very unusual for both of them and we are a bit worried. We think the black cat may have sprayed the siamese and put an unusal scent on her do any of you have any ideas of what happened or how we can make the situation better?
