How Do I Get My Bengal Kitten To Stop Jumping At My Face, Biting And Scratching?
Posted on February 24th, 2010 4 commentsI’ve had him for two months and he’s generally really sweet but sometimes he can be really naughty. If you say a stern no and put him on the floor he becomes vindictive and will jump at your face and bite you. I’ve never had a cat before so not sure if this is a Bengal thing or a kitten phase. Please help because I want him to grow up well behaved and nice. Quite often if I switch the light off at night before he’s ready to go to bed he’ll pounce on my face and bite me.

Sometimes if you reach to kiss him on the forehead, he bites your nose or your lip. Jude is also disrespectful to my other adult cat, Miya. He’ll jump on her, and then she’ll just lick him.
I want to learn techniques to train him to be a friendly cat while he’s young.

Strange Behavior In New Bengal Kitten….?
Posted on February 19th, 2010 11 commentsI just bought a new bengal kitten two days ago from a supposed “reputable” breeder. However, when I got there all the cats where in cages and they seemed skittish except for the mom cat who was very lovable. I put the kitten in the upstairs bathroom and gave her food and water and she has yet to touch it. It has been two days and she hasn’t eaten or drank a thing and she looks like she is getting weak. The kitten runs from me and hisses and growls at me when I try to pick her up and pet her. Can someone tell me if this is normal behavior? I am starting to feel ripped off by the breeder who was supposed to sell me a quality kitten.

Maine Coon, Bengal, Or Munchkin/napoleon? (kittens)?
Posted on February 17th, 2010 6 commentsMy boyfriend and I are considering getting a third cat. We are stuck between three different breeds: Maine Coon (gentle giants), Bengal (gorgeous leopard-y coat), or Munchkins/Napoleons (Dachshund cats). What is your opinion on the cat we should get? We have two, and one of them is a Maine Coon. He’s the biggest cuddle bug ever! I have no experience with the other two breeds, but I hear they’re playful and affectionate.
