  • I Have A Half Manx, Half Siamese Cat, The Litter Box It Changed Daily, But It Still Smells Terribly. Any Ideas?

You can try another brand of litter and/or sprinkle in some baking soda. If your cat will accept a covered box, these help a lot.
A smelly box, however, is often the result of smelly poop or pee, and that is a result of diet. Take a look at your cat’s diet and try a better quality food that has meats as the first ingredients, has no corn, and no-to-few by-products, lay low on the fish, and I bet you’ll see…I mean smell…a huge improvement.

  • I Still Have No Clue What (breed?)my Cat Is…?

Well, apparently she’s a domestic short hair from what I’ve seen posted about other cats, but I don’t know if she’s like Maine Coon or Ragdoll or whatever. Well, I do know she’s not a Maine Coon or Ragdoll, if that made sense.
I just wanted your opinions. :3http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r282/…

  • Ragdoll Kitten Still So Jumpy And Nervous? Now I Am Nervous!?

Posted on February 1st, 2010 admin 3 comments

I purchased a ragdoll kitten last week – when we brought her home she had major symptoms of stress from the relocation.
I have had her in my room with me and have waited to introduce her to the house and whole family, and my two other cats with fear of her reactions to it. I was thinking within a couple days she would be fine to ‘let her loose’ throughout the home.
We spend a ton of time with her – all of us take turns (1 or 2 ppl at a time) to go up with her, cuddle her, play with her.
I spent a ton of money on her wanting a ragdoll for their boosted about temperament. Sometimes she will fall asleep with me and the next minute run off fearful if I try to pick her up.
I have a male Maine Coon and a male part Himalayan which I purchased when they were babies and they were never like this as kittens – they were super friendly and trusting (no running away or hiding underbeds) and to this day are the most amazing cats anyone could hope for.
    So my question is:
Does a kittens behaviour depict their behavior as an adult? I spent the money on her as I wanted that wonderful rag doll temprament that I have heard about but I am just not seeing it…and it makes me nervous.
I don’t know what else to do to have her trust me and stop being so fearful.
I am also not sure how to introduce her to the whole house with her having a nervous breakdown!

  • Pregnant Bengal- Is A Kitten Still Inside Her?

Posted on January 25th, 2010 admin 3 comments

I realize labour normally doesnt last very long in cats, but my bengal seems to be special. She gave birth to her first kitten at 1:11am, the next kitten didnt arrive until 3:50pm and the third kitten about 5:15pm.
Seeing how there was about 15 hrs between the first and second kitten, im wondering if there is one more. The vet x-ray told us between 3-4 kittens. but how can i be sure? I thought i felt a skull push out while i was petting her, but now its sunk back in and I dont wanna push to find it. It’s now midnight so this would be another resting period. is it usual to have two long resting periods of 10 or more hours?
this is her first litter, and she is being spayed afterward, but I am worried and the vet doesnt open until later tomorrow morning.
    thoughts?
