  • My Siamese Cat Has Some Stripes On His Tail… Is He Full Breed?

Posted on February 9th, 2010 admin 9 comments

I got a siamese cat almost a year ago and I was wondering if he was full breed.. he looked it when he was younger, but now that he is 8 months old, he is getting some stripes on his tail, and he has a very faint “M” on his forehead, and I know that is a sign of Tabby Cat. I paid the Full Breed Siamese price, but did I get only half of what I paid for?

  • What Is The Difference Between Clipping A Puppy’s Ears Or Tail And Declawing A Kitten?

Posted on February 7th, 2010 admin 11 comments

I was raised on a ranch, I helped brand cows and castrate sheep. I just bought two Bengal kittens and while I understand that the procedure is brutal, I have an older cat that I had declawed and she never missed a beat, she dose everything she needs to do with her back claws. If declawing a kitten is so horrible and mean why do people clip some breeds of puppy’s ears or tails? How is that different? Any insight anyone might have on adjusting from a ranch girl to a city pet owner would be appreciated.

  • Cat Losing Hair On Underside Of Tail?

Posted on October 24th, 2009 admin 2 comments

I have a neutered male Ragdoll cat that is almost two years old. In the past few weeks I have noticed that he is losing chunks of hair from ONLY the underside of his tail. The area of hair loss has increased to almost 6″ of his tail, leaving only a tuft of hair at the end and on the top of the tail.
I can see the skin quite well, and I don’t see any redness/irritation/puffiness. There are no noticeable changes in his behavior, and he doesn’t mind me touching his tail. I have treated him for fleas and changed his food, but no marked changes in the hair loss or lack thereof.
Has anyone experienced anything similar to this?
